VP, Communications & Corporate Social Responsibility - NSLC (Filled)

As an organizational ambassador, the Vice President, Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility plays a catalytic role as champion in fostering alignment, consistency, and results in NSLC’s continued commitment as a trusted retailer, partner, employer, and responsible industry steward.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Services, the Vice President is accountable for leadership over all aspects of the NSLC’s communications, brand, strategy, and corporate social responsibility portfolios. They are a strategic leader responsible for driving integrated communications strategy across the organization, designed to foster key relationships, build the organization’s reputation, successfully deploy business priorities, mitigate risk, and communicate in a way that aligns with NSLC’s values and strategy.

An inspiring people leader, the Vice President provides guidance and support to a talented team of employees. As a trusted advisor, they provide regular thought leadership and advice to the President and Executive Team, including counsel in times of crisis and issues management. The Vice President acts as a primary liaison with the Province on communication matters and interacts with other key stakeholders including media, industry, and community partners.

The ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree preferably in communications, public relations, or business administration, and is a progressive senior leader with at least 10 years of strategic integrated communications experience spent in complex consumer-driven or multi-stakeholder environments. They have a natural planning and strategy orientation with a demonstrated knowledge of corporate communications planning and implementation, proactive communications, crisis, and issues management. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the digital landscape, reputation, and corporate and brand strategy. Prior corporate social responsibility experience is considered an asset. The Vice President is a master communicator, relationship-focused, and an inclusive people leader with demonstrated experience leading high functioning teams and organizational alignment.
