Reporting to the Chair of the EfficiencyOne Board of Directors, the Secretary to the Board assists with matters of corporate governance and its administration. The Secretary to the Board is integral to effectively and efficiently managing the office of the Board of Directors and works closely with the management team to ensure the organization fulfills its corporate governance requirements. The role is responsible for managing logistics with respect to Board meetings and events, preparation and coordination of materials, the flow of Board information, minute taking, action items, agenda planning, budgets, remuneration, orientation, and ongoing training and development.

The successful candidate has a university degree or diploma in business, paralegal services or office administration, or equivalent education and work experience. Along with a minimum of 5 years experience as a Board Secretary, Board Liaison, Corporate Paralegal, or Executive Assistant to senior level executives, the Secretary to the Board has a solid understanding of governance practices and a keen interest in learning and understanding E1’s business. They are professional and discreet and hold excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to plan and anticipate the Board’s workflow. An outstanding communicator, the Secretary to the Board will foster relationships among executives, employees, and other internal/external stakeholders.
