Beginning operations in 2012, Eden Valley Poultry Incorporated is a state-of-the-art, top quality poultry processing facility that has earned a reputation for strong partnerships, visionary leadership and operational excellence that ensures Canadian consumers enjoy fresh, wholesome poultry products from farm to table. Eden Valley’s ownership structure is one of its key strengths, as the partnership between United Poultry Producers Inc., producers of high quality fresh Maritime poultry, and Maple Lodge Farms, Canada’s largest independent family-owned chicken processor, ensures a relentless focus on quality and deep understanding that supply, processing, distribution and sales are integral to the overall success and growth of the company and industry.

Headquartered in Berwick, Nova Scotia, which is an hour from Halifax and an international airport, Eden Valley employs approximately 430 people from the local community. Eden Valley’s products include air chilled, fresh poultry products sold in the Maritime provinces and to grocery stores and restaurants in the Maritimes and Eastern Canada. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President sets the overall strategic direction and vision for the company, with support from the Board, management team and staff, bringing a long-term future orientation to the business. They inspire and encourage a culture of collaboration and partnership in all key relationships across the company and with customers and stakeholders in the industry and community. The President oversees the management of the organization, ensures the overall financial health and long-term sustainability of the company and identifies and manages risks. This is a high-impact role where the President will continue to evolve the culture and performance of the company through continuous improvement and a systems approach that enhances individual and collective success.

An approachable and genuine relationship builder, the President possesses a degree in agriculture, marketing, or business, with a minimum of 10 years experience leading an organization at the strategic level, ideally reporting to a Board of Directors. The President has a proven track record of business experience in operations, sales, finance, and team leadership, ideally with a background in food processing, live animals or agriculture. They must have strong relationship building and communication skills and have experience working with multiple shareholders, industry stakeholders, and employees, ideally in a unionized environment. They will be a collaborative team leader, a visionary and possess an entrepreneurial spirit.
