Reporting to the Vice President of Environmental Assessments and Approvals, and the Manager of the St. John’s Office, the Manager of Environmental Assessments and Approvals is responsible for assisting with business development in managing and delivering environmental initiatives and action plans. This position is a key strategic hire for Strum Consulting, with this individual being responsible for the growth of this service line in Newfoundland and Labrador. The Manager of Environmental Assessments and Approvals will oversee the projects and activities performed by their team and will work with project managers to ensure that they are set up and executed in full compliance with quality standards and regulations. This individual will be highly motivated with both technical and communication skills to confidently represent Strum at business meetings and while speaking with clients, both in-person and virtually.
The Manager of Environmental Assessments and Approvals will be an innovative, team player with 10 years of relevant environmental consulting experience managing a portfolio of projects and a significant background in the leadership of a team of technical professionals. This individual will have a client-focused and entrepreneurial mindset to communicate and explore new business opportunities, and a desire to be involved in the organizational growth and development of Strum Consulting. With a degree in Biology, Ecology, or related environmental discipline at a minimum, the Manager of Environmental Assessments and Approvals will have detailed knowledge of provincial and federal environmental assessment regulations, as well as an understanding of other environmental permitting requirements. This individual will have strong collaborative leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to engage, mentor, and empower a dynamic team of professionals.
