Human Resources Manager (Filled)

Our client, a private company based in the Annapolis Valley with a strong community and industry brand, is recruiting an HR Manager.

Reporting to the President and CEO, the HR Manager is proactive and energetic on all aspects of the attraction and recruitment of front-line employees, supervisors, and management. They will have a natural ability to foster strong employee relations and create a culture of safety and learning. They will also take initiative with staying up to date on HR best practices and regulations. The HR Manager will be responsible for implementing relevant HR practices and policies especially in the areas of health & safety and diversity & inclusion.

The Human Resources Manager will lead the Human Resources Department and provide tactical hands on support while also contributing to the development of HR programs and the annual budget process. They will actively promote employee communication and internal accountability while building and fostering external relationships with workforce and economic development organizations.

The successful applicant is proactive in fostering HR networks and partnerships with community skill and workforce organizations including temporary foreign worker opportunities. They are also a self-starter, relationship builder and creative thinker who works collaboratively within the company and the broader community.

The ideal candidate will have five plus years of diverse HR experience handling talent acquisition, occupational health & safety, employee relations, policy development, training & development, and benefits administration. Having a CPHR designation will be considered an asset but not required.
