Saint Martha’s Regional Hospital Foundation has been working to resource and support the highest standard of healthcare for all patients of the Saint Martha’s Regional Hospital since 1990. The Foundation works to provide resources to support quality health and medical care. The Foundation is led by a volunteer Board of Directors and an Executive Director that work diligently together to plan for the hospital’s future working with other foundations, corporations, and individuals to receive financial support and raise awareness in the community.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for providing organizational leadership to achieve the goals and strategic direction of the Foundation. The Executive Director is also instrumental in implementing, leading, building, expanding, and managing the operational effectiveness, fundraising capacity, and community awareness of the Foundation.

The Executive Director is a highly skilled and organized relationship builder who is passionate about supporting the community. As the primary contact between the community and the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will work alongside the community to understand their needs and assess how the Foundation can best support them. The Executive Director will also play a key role in providing lines of communication between all donors and both the hospital and the Board of Directors. The successful candidate has exceptional leadership skills, experience developing and implementing policies, is highly organized, and has a background in non-profit operations. Showing empathy, patience, and kindness are essential to succeed in this role.

The successful candidate has demonstrated experience in and passion for building and fostering strong relationships across a variety of levels and organizations. They have post-secondary education or equivalent training and experience. It is considered essential for the candidate to have fundraising or non-profit experience and knowledge, as well as relevant experience in senior management or an executive role. Experience working in Nova Scotia’s healthcare system will be considered an asset.

Compensation: $80,000 - $85,000
