Among its assets, the company owns the iconic Chickenburger and new entrant Chicken Little Café; Harvest Beer, Wine, and Spirits; Palooka Gym; and Regional Storage and Logistics (RSL) with warehouses in Moncton NB and Bedford NS; Micco is also a significant landholder and partner in multi-use real estate developments throughout the Halifax region. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) oversees the day-to-day operations of the company and is responsible for translating strategy into operational plans, execution, and performance management. The COO complements the CEO’s experience and management style, participates in Board meetings, and steers the activities of the management team ensuring the organization runs smoothly and efficiently. The COO is an experienced strategic and operational leader with a relentless passion for growth, a strategic mindset, and a record for maximizing operational effectiveness. They are an experienced people leader who brings out the best in others. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated success in the workplace with a track record of increasing responsibility over time with multiple reports and responsibility for financial results. Experience in a family business is a definite asset. A post-secondary degree in business or related discipline (CPA, MBA, LLB, etc. is an asset) with lived experience working in diverse businesses from the ground up. The COO is a generalist, well-rounded, and sees the whole picture. The COO has diverse industry experience that could include but is not limited to, manufacturing, retail, logistics, or technology. Exposure to multiple business lines is an asset. Additional assets include exposure to commercial real estate and previous participation in acquisition activities.
