Chief Operating Officer - EfficiencyOne (Filled)

Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Operating Officer (COO) oversees the operations of the organization, aligning people, resources and driving operational excellence and resilience to support continued growth, expansion and impact.

Together with the Board of Directors, CEO and executive leadership team, the COO helps set the strategic direction and vision for the organization and is responsible for executing and delivering on goals as set out in the strategic plan and annual business plan. The COO is a dynamic leader and coach, providing guidance and support to a talented executive team, with overall responsibility for finance and regulatory, human resources and infrastructure, service delivery and customer experience and partnerships functions within the organization. An inclusive leader, the COO promotes a culture of empowerment, innovation, accountability and results. An organizational change agent, they are accountable for driving alignment and operational efficiencies and scaling across the business through innovative practices, identifying and managing risk, exploring and managing opportunities and developing and cultivating high performing teams.

The ideal candidate has an undergraduate or master’s degree in business, finance, engineering or a related field coupled with at least ten years of senior leadership experience leading operations and cross-functional teams through growth and change in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. The COO has a stellar track record of delivering on strategic objectives and generating strong performance results across broad business functions. They are an authentic people leader with exceptional communication skills. They have strong financial acumen and excellent corporate board governance experience. Energy efficiency and greenhouse gas mitigation experience and knowledge are considered assets as is regulatory and government relations experience.
