For more than 80 years, Commissionaires Nova Scotia (CNS), a not-for-profit organization, has been providing security services to Nova Scotian companies and organizations throughout the province. Historically known for its social mandate to provide meaningful employment to Canadian veterans, CNS now employs more than 1400 trained professionals at over 200 sites across the province. CNS is a leader in providing multifaceted security services including guarding, threat risk assessments, by-law enforcement, police clearances, closed circuit television monitoring, record suspension, and US waiver services.

Reporting to the Board of Governors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the organization’s vision to excel as the leading integrated security provider in Nova Scotia. Responsible for the overall management of the organization, including accountability for the implementation of the strategic vision, the CEO will bring executive leadership to engage and motivate stakeholders internal and external to the organization. As a champion for growth, the CEO will collaborate with the senior management team to lead change and advance strategic and innovative practices and processes for CNS employees and the expansion of client partnerships.

As the ideal candidate, you have a relevant degree coupled with at least 10 years of progressive senior leadership experience, highly established business acumen, and exceptional communication skills. You are a respected, inclusive leader with proven experience building, mentoring, and empowering high-performing teams. Through your ability to build trusted and collegial relationships, you have cultivated an accomplished record of government relations and business development experience. You are talented in business and operational management and encourage a culture of service delivery. Your skills and interests align with a team driven by the mission, vision, and the importance of CNS’ work in Nova Scotia. Military, RCMP, security sector, or not-for-profit experience is considered an asset.
